Deep Listening: Rumi and the Mystery of Music
MOUNT OLIVE- There will be a performance of soothing music and poetry at the Hazel Waters Kornegay Assembly Hall on Monday, April 3 at 6:30 PM. Rita Granandos will play the percussion, William Ford on woodwinds, Franklin Gross on piano, and John Blackwell reading will present the ecstatic poetry of the extraordinary 13th century mystic, Rumi, that will also be set to music. The mystery that music and poetry embody will allow both musicians and audience to listen in the presence of the source of life.
