Tillman School of Business

 Healthcare Management

The University of Mount Olive invites applications for a full-time, non-tenured faculty position teaching in the area of Healthcare management.

The individual hired for this position should have qualifications related to (and an interest in) healthcare topics. Teaching assignments will typically include traditional classes, but evening and online classes may also be assigned. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of course and advising. This is a full-time faculty position with an excellent benefits package. The anticipated start date is August 2015.

Qualifications:

  • Terrminal degree in Healthcare Management or a closely related field, or, Master's degree in Healthcare Management or closely related field with current enrollment and demonstrated progress to complete a terminal degree in Healthcare Management or a closely related field
  • Classroom and online teaching experience
  • Industry/professional experience preferred

 

Analytics

The University of Mount Olive invites applications for a full-time, non-tenured faculty position teaching in the area of Analytics.

The individual hired for this position should have qualifications related to (and an interest in) big data topics, such as predictive modeling, and experience or interest in teaching business statistics courses. Teaching assignments will typically include traditional classes in basic and advanced analytics, but evening and online classes may also be assigned. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of courses in business analytics and enhance the integration of analytics education within existing programs. This is a full-time faculty position with an excellent benefits package. The anticipated start date is August 2015.

Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree in Analytics, Statistics, or a closely-related field
  • Classroom and online teaching experience
  • Industry/professional experience preferred
  • At least two years’ experience using and/or teaching SAS required
  • Teaching and/or professional experience with R, Python, Hadoop, and similar applications preferred

 

Marketing

The University of Mount Olive invites applications for a full-time, non-tenured faculty position teaching in the area of Marketing.

The individual hired for this position will teach basic, advanced, and graduate-level courses in marketing, international marketing, and analytics. Teaching assignments will include traditional, evening, and online classes. This is a full-time faculty position with an excellent benefits package. The anticipated start date is August 2015.

Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree in Marketing or a closely-related field

Technical and Professional Communication

The UMO Department of Language and Literature invites applications to teach in our expanding Technical and Professional Communication program. Typical teaching load is 4/4. Qualifications of the ideal candidate include:

  • Terminal degree in Technical/Professional  Communication  or in Rhetoric/Composition
  • Teaching experience at the university level in Composition I and II and TPC-related courses
  • Experience in delivering courses in online platforms
  • Ability to demonstrate innovative approaches to  teaching
  • Ability to use technology effectively in the classroom.
  • Interest in collaboratively developing new  course  materials as  the Communication program evolves

 

Department of Criminal Justice, Criminology & Sociology

The department offers a B.S. in Criminal Justice/Criminology and a minor in Sociology.  Specialty is open, but a successful candidate should be able to teach core courses and have the capability to teach on-line as well as in the classroom.  The program has 6 full-time faculty and approximately 400 majors.  The primary campus is located in Mount Olive with additional campuses in Jacksonville, New Bern, Research Triangle Park, Washington, Wilmington, and Virtual. The position is effective beginning August 1, 2015.

Qualifications include a Master’s Degree with a Doctorate preferred in Criminology or Criminal Justice.  In addition to teaching Methods, candidates should possess expertise in one or more of the following:  Law, Systems Analysis or Theory.  Practitioner experience in the field is a plus.  Professors advise students, review and revise curriculum, teach four courses per semester, and serve the college, community and profession.

Admissions Representative

The University of Mount Olive at Research Triangle Park (RTP) location has an immediate opening for an Admissions Representative.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Recruiting prospective students through college events, individual and group information meetings with businesses, medical facilities, professional organizations, childcare centers, etc.
  • Conducting interviews with all prospective students through one on one information sessions
  • Timely follow through on communication by initiating & answering phone calls, correspondence and inquiries from prospective students
  • Create and maintain student files
  • Some instate travel and limited use of personal vehicle will be required

Financial Aid Technician

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a Financial Aid Technician.

Responsibilities include:

  • Allocate accurate financial aid funds in a timely manner among qualified students using established eligibility criteria and maintaining compliance with institutional, federal and state policies and regulations (packaging)
  • Maintain a solid understanding and compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations regarding intercollegiate athletics 
  • Process financial aid award packages, FAFSA verification, and other financial aid forms including direct loans
  • Download data files from EDE into campus wide Power Faids; maintain, correct, and submit all variations back to EDE 
  •  Process all scheduled award letters, missing form letters, and loan  disbursement letters for students and/or parents
  • Maintain strong working relationship with Financial Counselors at extended locations and assist with processing requests.
  • Complete all data entry for assigned tasks
  • Prepare loans for origination
  • Complete all records of federal, state, and/or institutional funds as assigned
  • Complete initial student file creation, awarding, and packaging for all student aid applicants.
  • Ensure timely processing and communication to FA colleagues 
  • Maintain organized files and timely filing procedures 
  • Process all drops, withdrawals, re-admits, and re-package procedures as appropriate and in a timely manner
  •  Accurately complete all verification, satisfactory progress, and special circumstance forms in a timely manner 
  • Respond to all phone calls, emails and other correspondence timely, accurately, and professionally researching each case thoroughly 
  •  Assist Financial Counselors with researching student inquiries as appropriate
  •  Assist Director and Assistant Director with internal quality control audits

Qualifications include: High School diploma required and some comparable experience. Requires the ability to prioritize multiple projects, work independently and in a team environment. Must perform accurate mathematical computations. Must possess excellent written and oral communication. Support Services Coordinator

The University of Mount Olive at Washington has an immediate opening for a Support Services Coordinator. Responsibilities include: working closely with the director, data entry, maintaining accurate records, recruiting, and enrolling students, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications include: Associate’s degree in office systems or office management or a combination of formal education and experience managing a fast paced office environment. Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and the ability to mail merge. Groundskeeper

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a Groundskeeper.

Responsibilities Include:

  •  Perform a variety of landscape maintenance duties to  include watering, mowing, weeding, trimming,  and fertilizing lawns 
  • Calibrate and apply various fertilizers and pesticides   related to ornamental plant maintenance, lawn management and turf grass maintenance
  • Prepare required pesticide usage report 
  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment including hand   tools, mowers, edgers, and blowers 
  •  Test irrigation system 
  •  Assist with the installation of new irrigations systems
  •  Perform minor repairs as needed
  •  Pick up debris, pines cones etc…

Evening and Weekend Library Supervisor

The University of Mount Olive, Moye Library has an opening for an Evening and Weekend Library Supervisor. The position requires evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities include:

  • Staff the reference desk and supervising the library activities during the night and weekend hours
  • In collaboration with Campus Safety, maintain a safe and secure environment for users and staff in the library and help assure library resources are maintained and secure
  • Provide basic patron assistance with library resources. 
  •  Mainttain statistical records and sort, prepare and shelve books
  • Assists Curator of Special Collections with miscellaneous duties and projects

Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree required; Prefer a minimum of one year of working experience in a library or other information resources facility. Must have excellent communications and presentation skills with a strong customer service orientation. Must have good organization and analytical skills. Must have good working knowledge of computers and software systems.

Online Program Support Coordinator

The University of Mount Olive is currently seeking an Online Program Support Coordinator to provide administrative assistance for students who are enrolled in one of the UMO online programs.  This position will work with students from matriculation through graduation and will be responsible for assisting students in the following areas: admissions, providing resources for financial aid, academic advising, and supporting students with resources and training for the virtual community, among other duties.

This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately using all modes of communication (virtual, phone, email, etc.), and the ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community, and the public.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred  
  • Two years of professional work experience preferably in education, training, customer support, public relations or related area  
  • Two years of experience using technology as a data management and communication medium 
  • Preferred experience with virtual learning platforms

Bus Driver
