Tillman School of Business

Finance

The University of Mount Olive, Tillman School of Business (TSB) invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, Finance Faculty to begin August 1, 2016. The Tillman School of Business (TSB) undergraduate programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Finance is one of several areas that compose the business core in TSB. Finance courses are taught online and at the main campus in Mount Olive, NC with courses offered at seven regional campuses, as well as in the MBA program.

This position is responsible for teaching in both the traditional and non-traditional (adult student) programs supplemented with online activities. Additional expectations include maintaining office hours for tutoring and academic advising, as well as participating in program assessment and related course development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in finance or related field with 18 graduate credits in Finance. Applicants who are ABD with a fixed dissertation defense date on or before May 15, 2017 will also be considered. Degree(s) must be from regionally accredited institution(s)

Analytics

The University of Mount Olive invites applications for a full-time, non-tenured faculty position teaching in the area of Analytics.

The individual hired for this position should have qualifications related to (and an interest in) big data topics, such as predictive modeling, and experience or interest in teaching business statistics courses. Teaching assignments will typically include traditional classes in basic and advanced analytics, but evening and online classes may also be assigned. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of courses in business analytics and enhance the integration of analytics education within existing programs. This is a full-time faculty position with an excellent benefits package. The anticipated start date is August 2016.

Marketing

Accounting

Healthcare Management

The University of Mount Olive, Tillman School of Business (TSB) invites applications for two 9-month, full-time, Healthcare Management (HCM) Faculty to begin August 1, 2016. The HCM program is recognized by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) and accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The program has approximately 1000 graduates to date and includes more than 300 currently enrolled students. The HCM program is based at the main campus in Mount Olive, NC with courses offered at seven regional campuses. A hybrid graduate certificate in healthcare management (running in parallel with the online MBA program) is planned for 2017.

This position is responsible for teaching in both the traditional and non-traditional (adult student) programs supplemented with online activities. Additional expectations include maintaining office hours, academic advising, participating in AUPHA as well as ACBSP program assessment and related course development.

Allied Faculty

The Tillman School of Business (TSB) at the University of Mount Olive invites applications for contracted allied faculty positions teaching in multiple areas of the TSB, two to six classes per year.

The individuals hired for these positions shall have qualifications related to (and an interest in) one of the TSB undergraduate or graduate level programs to include; Accounting, Agribusiness, Analytics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Economics, Healthcare Management, Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing and the Management of Computer Information Systems.

Teaching assignments will typically include evening classes at one or more of the regional campuses across eastern North Carolina or online relying on Moodle as the LMS. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of courses and advising.

The University of Mount Olive employs Full-time Faculty, primarily based at the main campus at Mount Olive, Allied Faculty based across the region, and Adjunct Faculty who teach individual courses on an as needed basis, also located across the region. Allied faculty are contracted for services on an annual basis with a defined course load and other duties as assigned depending on the needs of the school and the availability/capability of the faculty. Allied faculty are considered members of the faculty and can pursue promotion in rank based on the guidelines found in the faculty handbook.

The anticipated start date is August 2016 or January 2017.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in a related field is preferred 
  • Master's degree in a related field will be considered with current enrollment and demonstrated progress to complete a terminal degree 
  • Master’s degree in a related field with demonstrated professional success in the related field

Biology

The University  of Mount  Olive Department of Biological and Physical Sciences has  a vacancy for  faculty position in the area of biology.  Position will be full-time, 9-month beginning August 2016. The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to the undergraduate and liberal arts mission of the department. Teaching responsibilities will include preparation and teaching of lower and upper-level courses in biology and courses for the general education curriculum.  The candidate would also participate in governance of the department and mentoring undergraduate research projects. Nursing

The University of Mount Olive Division of Nursing has a vacancy for a 9-month, full-time, virtual Nursing Faculty to begin August 1, 2016. The online RN to BSN program is accredited by CCNE and is located on the virtual campus, and the online MSN in Nursing Education and Administration is planned to start August 2016. Academic rank commensurate with experience is negotiable.

Responsibilities include:

The Division of Nursing faculty has their primary responsibility in the teaching of assigned online nursing courses each semester. This position is responsible for teaching in both the online RN to BSN program, and in the future online MSN in Nursing Education and Nursing Administration program. Additional expectations include maintaining virtual office hours, virtual academic advising of MSN students, participating in CCNE processes and planning, and assisting in program assessment and development/revising of courses for both degree tracks. This position reports to the Division of Nursing Chair and works closely with other nursing faculty. Additional duties may be required as assigned by the Division Chair of Nursing.

Minimum Qualifications

  •  PhD in Nursing or related field from a regionally   accredited college/university required (EdD in Nursing Education acceptable) 
  •  Masters Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college/university required
  • Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credentials are required from any candidate who does not have a graduate degree with a concentration in Nursing Education
  • Preference is given to candidates who also hold specialty certifications in Nursing Executive (NE-BC or NEA-BC) and/or Nursing Professional Development (RN-BC)

Groundskeeper

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a Groundskeeper.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform a variety of landscape maintenance duties to include watering, mowing, weeding,trimming, renovating and fertilizing  lawns 
  • Calibrate and apply various fertilizers and pesticides related to ornamental plant maintenance,lawn management and turf grass  maintenance 
  • Prepare required pesticide usage report

Financial Counselor

The University of Mount Olive at the Washington location is currently seeking a Financial Counselor.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Counsel and advise students on issues relative to Financial Aid (FA) and Veterans Affairs Educational Benefits
  • Complete Consortium Agreement Requests
  • Assist students with entrance/exit counseling as well as MPNs
  • Represent the Office of FA at various school-related events (i.e. Open House, Orientations, etc.).
  • Coordinates with FA Technicians to answer student questions and determine processing timelines.
  • Views financial aid packages, required documents, and other information in the FA system to assist students in the FA process. 
  • Collects and forwards any submitted Financial Aid documents to the Mount Olive College (MOC) FA office (using the approved method(s)) assure timely processing.
  • Ensures compliance with institutional, veteran affairs (VA), federal and state policies and regulations.
  • Prepare and review student financial accounts including charges, payments and collections, error detection and correction, and authorizing through College policies cancellation of charges.
  • Respond to billing inquiries through explanation of applicable college policies, federal and state laws.
  • Determine when to place or release financial holds on student transcripts and registration.
  • Communicate with Director of Student Accounts regarding cancellation of charges or exceptions to establish policies with realization of impact of decision on future collection policies; as directed by supervisor discuss complicated situations with supervisor and offer ideas for resolution.
  • Maintain diligence and consistency in collection of student and non-student debts, and administer Refund Policy to student and employee withdrawal from classes.
  • Maintain records of VA students and make all records available for inspection.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Candidate should have at least 4 years’ of experience working with adult, preferably in adult education, training, non-profit fundraising, sales customer support, marketing, public relations, or related area. Must be proficient in MS-Outlook, Word, Access and Excel, along with having the ability and willingness to quickly learn and properly use complex relational databases in routine performance of daily job functions. Graduate Program Support Coordinator

The University of Mount Olive is currently seeking a Graduate Program Support Coordinator to provide administrative, academic, and admissions support assistance to the Dean of Graduate Studies and associated Graduate Programs.  This position will be responsible for providing support for the growing School of Graduate Studies in the areas of admissions, academic program support, and administrative support.

This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately in a team oriented setting, and above a working knowledge of computers and systems including MS-Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, MS Access) and/or relational databases.

Administrative Assistant

The University of Mount Olive has an opening for an Administrative Assistant.  This position provides support to the Library.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides basic assistance to patrons including selection and location of appropriated resources, computer assistance and circulation duties
  • Provides acquisition services:
  • ordering and receiving new materials
  • Works with collections staff to determine most appropriate acquisition sources
  • Checks shipments to insure correct quantity, material and quality
  • Maintains departmental or area records
  • Provides serials collections services
  • Orders and prepares library serial subscriptions
  • Checks in serials and reports missing issues
  • Updates online systems and print reports to reflect serials holdings, locations and  identity 
  • Monitors serial subscription status and resolves issues with vendors as needed 
  •  Provides limited technical support services to library users

Payroll Coordinator

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a Payroll Coordinator.

Responsibilities include:

 Payroll processing of Salary employees (on a monthly basis), Hourly employees (on a biweekly basis), and Adjunct employees (can be on a monthly or biweekly basis).         

  • As part of the payroll process, the Payroll Coordinator does the following: 
    •  Import submitted timesheets from Greenshades Online time tracking system into Microsoft Dynamics GP (GP) payroll system.   Enter deductions in GP for garnishments, 401(k) contributions, insurance, etc. 
    • Prepare payroll funding invoice for processing by Senior Accountant 
    • Review resulting payroll for accuracy ​​
  • Prepare payroll reports after processing is complete including:     ​
    • Deductions report
    • Flex Spending report (to be uploaded to   insurance provider website) 
    • Reports for employee giving  contributions, flex spending and   401(k) contributions for Senior   Accountant to do funding 
    • Update ongoing reports to track employee advances and garnishment 
  • Process payroll ACH file to bank
  • Upload 401(k) contribution file to Plan Third Party Administrator website and submit funding
  • Reconcile payroll General Ledger accounts in GP
  • Process Greenshades and other payroll invoices for payment

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required. Bus Driver
