Program Description

When you study Accounting at University of Mount Olive, you will learn the process of communicating financial information about a business to users such as managers and shareholders. Accounting is defined by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as “the art of recording, classifying, and summarizing in a significant manner and in terms of money, transactions and events which are, in part at least, of financial character, and interpreting the results thereof.” Accounting is a mathematical science and is useful for discovering and communicating the success and failure of a business. Our accounting program is divided into two sectors: managerial accounting and financial accounting.
