MOUNT OLIVE - Jason Mitchell of Snow Hill received The W. Burkette Raper Outstanding Religion Student of the Year Award at University of Mount Olive’s Annual Awards Ceremony. Mitchell is a senior religion major.

The W. Burkette Raper Outstanding Religion Student of the Year Award is given to an outstanding graduating student on the basis of academic excellence. This award is given in honor of Dr. W. Burkett Raper, president of University of Mount Olive from 1954—1995.

University of Mount Olive is a private institution rooted in the liberal arts tradition with defining Christian values.
