Sharlene C. Howell of Goldsboro has been appointed assistant director of church support at University of Mount Olive. “As a Free Will Baptist and a graduate of MOC, I love the College and the relationship Free Will Baptists have with the College. I’m excited about the opportunity to work with both,” said Howell.
Howell graduated from University of Mount Olive in 1975 with an associate of arts in music. She previously worked as a customer account manager at Culligan Bottled Water for almost fifteen years. Howell currently serves as a pianist and Sunday school teacher at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro. She is also president of the Cape Fear Woman’s Auxiliary and serves on the Cragmont Board of Directors.
Howell’s new duties as assistant director of Church Support at MOC will include providing administrative services and work in partnership with the director of church support, providing service in the operation of all church-related giving programs for annual support, endowed funds and capital projects, preparing and processing church-related communications and publicity, and maintaining files, databases and information vital to the success of the Church Support Program.
Howell’s son, Timothy Howell, lives in Greensboro. Her stepson, Shawn Howell, lives in Fremont with his wife Karen and daughter, Isabel.
