Mount Olive College at New Bern Celebrates 20 Years

NEW BERN – University of Mount Olive at New Bern, located at 2912 Trent Road, is celebrating 20 years of serving the educational needs of Craven and surrounding counties.  The milestone will be marked with a celebration on Wednesday, December 4, from 4 to 6 PM and will include live music, refreshments and a special announcement.  The public is invited to attend.

  • University of Mount Olive at New Bern has been serving the educational needs of Craven and surrounding counties for more than 20 years.  Since opening its doors in 1993, MOC at New Bern has experienced significant growth, having graduated over 1,300 students in the past 20 years.
     
  • MOC at New Bern expanded to its current location in 2009 to better serve the growing number of students in Craven, Jones, Carteret and surrounding counties.
     
  • By stepping outside of the traditional confines of higher education, University of Mount Olive has become one of the most unique and fastest growing colleges in North Carolina.  This year alone, approximately 260 students at University of Mount Olive at New Bern will be considered non-traditional. Those students, with a median age of 31, will not only be seeking a college education, but also balancing full-time jobs and family responsibilities.

 

  • To meet the time sensitive needs of working adults, University of Mount Olive at New Bern offers one night a week programs, including the Heritage associate degree program and bachelor degree options in business administration, criminal justice, early childhood education, health care management, management of information systems and religion.
