Faculty Positions:

Art/Graphic Design

The Department of Art invites applications for a full-time faculty position in graphic design or a closely related field for August 2014. . The successful candidate should possess a doctorate or terminal master's degree in graphic design (or closely related field), and professional design experience is preferred. A submitted portfolio is required, and classroom teaching experience is also expected. In addition to the graphic design qualifications, the ability to teach in other art areas is desirable, but not required. Areas of expertise should include design foundations and software from the Adobe Creative Suite, especially, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign for the Macintosh platform. Additional responsibilities would include student advisement, supervision of student interns, recruitment, as well as service to the college, the community, and the profession.

Human Resource Management

The Division of Management Systems seeks applicants for a faculty position in Human Resource Management starting in fall 2014. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in a closely related field from an accredited AACSB/ACBSP institution. The successful candidate will have evidence of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals; a record of excellence in teaching; PHR/SPHR/GPHR certification; and excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Healthcare Management

The Division of Management Services seeks applicants for a faculty position in Healthcare Management starting in fall 2013. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree from an accredited institution in any area of health care, AUPHA/CAHME accredited institution graduates are highly preferred. The successful candidate will have evidence of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals; a record of teaching and research in field; and excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

International Business

Staff & Administrative Positions

Online Program Support Coordinator

The University of Mount Olive is currently seeking an Online Program Support Coordinator to provide administrative assistance for students who are enrolled in one of the UMO online programs.  This position will work with students from matriculation through graduation and will be responsible for assisting students in the following areas: admissions, providing resources for financial aid, academic advising, and supporting students with resources and training for the virtual community, among other duties. This position will be located at the Mount Olive location in Mount Olive, NC.

This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately using all modes of communication (virtual, phone, email, etc.), and the ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community, and the public.

Education or training and experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Two years of professional work experience preferably in education, training, customer support, public relations or related area
  • Two years of experience using technology as a data management and communication medium
  • Preferred experience with virtual learning platforms

The University of Mount Olive at Jacksonville location has an immediate opening for a Support Services Coordinator.  Responsibilities include: working closely with the director, data entry, maintaining accurate records, recruiting, and enrolling students, and other administrative duties as assigned.

 Qualifications include: Associate’s degree in office systems or office management or a combination of formal education and experience managing a fast paced office environment. Director of New Bern location

The University of Mount Olive is currently seeking an experienced Director for our New Bern location.  The successful candidate will have prior experience implementing operational strategy and budget management at the college level with a focus on creativity and innovation to develop new and unique ways to improve operations and opportunities for the location. The Director will assume responsibility for coordinating support and administrative services for location students and functional oversight of the facility operations. These include, but are not limited to: recruitment and enrollment, academic advising, financial aid, and student accounts. The Director will also work closely with academic department chairs and deans to create academic schedules and program offerings. The Director will supervise administrative staff by providing direction, input, and feedback and liaise with other managers to ensure effective and efficient program delivery. The Director will work collaboratively with the marketing and communication department to deliver print and electronic marketing materials that enhance the reputation and effectiveness of the college. In addition, the Director will work collaboratively to build strong relationships and partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and civic groups.  The Director of the New Bern location will work closely with all functional department leaders and will report to the Dean of Extended Education.

Qualifications include:  Master’s degree and successful experience leading a complex unit. Must possess excellent organizational skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work productively with all members of the college and the local community. 3-5 years of direct experience is preferred.

Academic Evaluation Coordinator (NonTrad)

The University of Mount Olive at the Mount Olive location has an immediately opening for an Academic Evaluation Coordinator for non-traditional students.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluates transcripts from all Non-Trad locations
  • Prepares and distributes curriculum evaluation sheets.
  • Update transcripts to college database.
  • Provide data to student records specialists.
  • Advises students about transfer work.
  • Certifies candidates for graduation.
  • Assists in the certification of veterans qualifying for veteran’s benefits.
  • Assists in the processing of student information including grades, transcripts, biographical information, student schedules drop/add, master class schedules, and financial information grades, advisor/advisee packets and financial information.
  • Coordinate with the Registrar and Data Management in preparation of selected reports: Registration reports, retention study, student’s right to know, Dean’s and President’s lists, Probation Exclusive report, billing reports, work load report, master class schedule, and class/grade rosters.

Assistant Director of Pope Wellness Center/Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

The University of Mount Olive has an opening for a full-time Assistant Director of Pope Wellness Center/Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.  This is a 12-month position.  Duties include developing, directing, leading, and implementing strength and conditioning programs for all intercollegiate athletic teams; developing and enforcing appropriate safety procedures during all training sessions; coordinating conditioning programs with rehabilitation activities in cooperation with athletic trainers; and adhering to all rules and regulations of the University of Mount Olive and the NCAA.  This position carries the additional responsibility of maintaining and supervising all strength and conditioning facilities and equipment and assisting with operations of the wellness center. This position will report to the Director of the Pope Wellness Center.

Qualification include: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.  NSCA (CSCS) or CSCCA (SCCC) certification required.  CPR certification required.  Must possess excellent organizational skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work productively with coaches, staff, and student-athletes.  Strength and conditioning experience within an intercollegiate athletic environment preferred.

Admissions Representative

The University of Mount Olive at Research Triangle Park (RTP) location has an immediate opening for an Admissions Representative.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Recruiting prospective students through college events, individual and group information meetings with businesses, medical facilities, professional organizations, childcare centers, etc.
  • Conducting interviews with all prospective students through one on one information sessions
  • Timely follow through on communication by initiating & answering phone calls, correspondence and inquiries from prospective students
  • Create and maintain student files
  • Some instate travel and limited use of personal vehicle will be required

Bus Driver
